Why Choosing a Stainless steel DPF

Why Choosing a Stainless steel DPF

You definitely know it; the diesel particulate filter is a wear component. This is particularly the case when the regeneration cycles are no longer carried out normally, for instance: due to clogging. Yet another cause of failure is possible: when rust has eaten away at the emission control system. It is for this reason, among others, that the stainless steel DPF is strongly recommended.

Erratic manufacturing qualities

Looking at the market prices, you have definitely noticed that the prices of DPF can vary by up to three times. This is simply explained. To lower the prices, they sacrifice the quality of the materials used. This results in rapid wear of the diesel particulate filter. Contrary to what one might think, some major brands are not free from criticism. INOX 409 possesses many properties, including perfect corrosion resistance, thanks to the chromium used in its composition. To save money, some people consider removing the diesel particulate filter from their car, but that's not really a good idea.

But that is not all !

The exterior appearance of a DPF cannot by itself prejudge its quality. The type of monolith used has a significant importance. To reduce costs, some manufacturers choose cordierite, for entry-level filters. Silicon frequently retains a more extended life and better resistance against abrasion. Still by far, the most interesting remains the ceramic, which constitutes the monolith (internal honeycomb structure). Besides the choice of materials, our unique and rare metal thin-film coating technology is what makes the difference and therefore makes us unique. Achieving ever more efficient and durable DPF presents a significant challenge, and it has become a trademark. As a consequence, our corporate culture is based on the constant increase in quality and the expansion of ranges.

Do you want to know if your Catalytic Converter is Bad ? Do you want to know if your DPF is clogged ?

How to spot a quality DPF ?

When you are unfamiliar with cars, choosing a cheap DPF can be like an obstacle course. Fortunately, a logo can guide you in your choice. This is the TUV SUD logo, which corresponds to the first certification authority in Germany. It ensures quality at least equivalent to that of an original manufacturer part. If this logo is not present, we invite you to be extremely suspicious. It is reassuring to know, however, that the most expensive DPF are not necessarily the best. Many manufacturers are drawing significant margins, relying on brand image. There is only one solution: compare and refer to the TUV SUD logo and the technologies used during the design of the DPF.
